US Airways- A Premiere Name in the Aviation Industry
United Arab Emirates or simply Emirates is located on the Persian Gulf at the south-eastern portion of the Arabian Peninsula. It was founded in 1971 with the merger of seven different emirates like Ras al Khaimah, Umm al Quwain, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Fujairah, Ajman and Sharjah. US Airways, as the name suggests, is one of the premiere names in the American aviation industry and currently under the ownership of American Airlines Group. It runs flights to more than 190 destinations located in 24 countries spread over the Middle East, Europe, South America and North America.
It is an ex-member of Star Alliance and one of the affiliate members of global airline alliance OneWorld. It operates 278 turbo-prop and regional jet aircrafts in addition to 343 mainline jet aircrafts. It owns a number of subsidiaries which fall under the brand US Airways Express.
It also operates US Airways Shuttle which takes care of hourly services between Washington DC, New York and Boston. US Airlines was initially known as Allegheny Airlines till 1979 before the passage of Airline Deregulation Act.
It started expanding its operations at that point and acquired Pacific Southwest Airlines and Piedmont Airlines in a short span of time. It was in 2013 that US Airways and American Airlines went for a merger thereby leading to the formation of the world’s biggest airline.
